工作穩定於是才有閒情去涉獵文藝方面，附庸風雅一番。
台北市南海路54號美國新聞處圖書館參觀，看看有什麼新奇的事物。居然還有免費的圖書可借閱？可惜全都蝌蚪文，無法細嚼。找些有畫刊的吧，若有中文版的那就更好了。
在此也看到老美出版天文科普：「point to the stars」。看到如何觀察群星，大長見識。還有用英文介紹中國的京劇及說明，台灣的風俗民情。
「給海倫」，「願君常憶我」。

對於余光中「蓮的聯想」早就耳聞大名，借來一閱。文字組合艱澀，完全超乎我的想像和理解。於是轉而欣賞英詩翻譯的「致海倫」

以上兩首，都令我甚為喜愛，幾乎倒背如流了。
不過，有一首不完整的英譯詩，是60年前大學英文系課本內容有的，現已完全找不到了。
「金兮金兮金錢兮！
其堅若冰燦且黃，
熔鑄刻雕更錘煉；
舉重持輕各相當；
積儲論……………」
原詩如下：
Gold! Gold! Gold! Gold!
Bright and yellow, hard and cold,
Molten, graven, hammered, and rolled;
Heavy to get and hard to hold;
Hoarded, bartered, bought and sold.
Stolen, borrowed, squandered, doled:
